12 Important values was a very fun first project. We had to decorate our binder dividers and the front of our binder. Each divider had its own word that we had to decorate the binder around. In the front we had to have our name, and humanities big and clear in the front, and twelve words that we felt like were important values. The next five dividers had the words relationships, passion, health, growth, and collaboration on it. We had about a month to finish our binders, and in that month we had to sign ourselves up to have a five minute discussion with our teacher, describing each page.
In this project I feel that I worked very well. I was very organized, and I believe I had very good time management. Instead of working on only one divider at a time, I took it a different approach and worked at them all at the same time. This strategy worked very well for me, I started with watercoloring all the backgrounds, then putting on all the titles, and so on. I used every opportunities I had in class to work on this individual project, and I really like how the product turned out. One area that I feel that I could’ve grown in for this project is, working on one of the dividers a little more. I know what I wanted to put, but they were words so I just feel that I could've found a unique and artistic way to make it. Maybe with a drawing or something cool like that.
I believe the main learning outcome from this project was work ethic. Because this was our first project I was very eager to work on it. I feel that it was a very interesting way to start the year and for our teacher to get to know everyone a little better. When we worked on it in class I didn't waste a second, I stayed on task the whole time.
In this project the main class value that I demonstrated was responsibility. Every day we had to have a divider started or had a paper that stated what we were going to put on that divider. If we had that, than you would get a stamp. Without those stamps you wouldn’t be able to turn in this project. I was responsible and got all my stamps. Also another way I showed responsibility was signing up for my meeting before the deadline instead of waiting for the last minute.
Even though there was no exhibition for this project, to me it doesn't mean that it is of lesser value. Not only did our teacher get to know a little more about us but i feel that even I got to know my peers a little better. Seeing their passions and there way to contribute to school and the world. In this project, I grade something in between A and A+. And the reason behind that is because of the one divider that I could’ve put a little more work into.
