This project integrated all three of our classes. For Humanities we learned a world conflict and had to connect it to Romeo and Juliet. For Physics and Engineering we had to make a roller coaster module. To get a little more in depth in the Humanities side of this project we had to make our own individual products. We got to choose something that involved theater and five design choice paragraphs to go with it. There were choices like making clothes that went to a character in Romeo and Juliet if they were in a world conflict and choosing different lighting for different scenes. I chose to make a scenic design which is technically what architects make to show the buildings they want to make. I chose to make my scenic design in Berlin where the Berlin Wall was because my conflict was the Cold War. On each side of the Berlin Wall there was two building for both the Capulet's and Montague's and I also had many other design choices. Linked below you can find a link to my design paragraphs that shows why I chose the things that I did. Then a little more on the modules for Physics and Engineering. In Engineering we got to learn about how to use some tools especially the welder. We got to weld all of our track together. Then for Physics we got to learn about all the energy in our roller coasters so that consist of the potential energy, kinetic energy, mechanical energy and velocity.
My outstanding moment throughout this project was when we were going through peoples design paragraphs and mine showed up. After the class was done reading my paragraph Ms. Carol said that the content portion of it would be graded very well understating of both Romeo and Juliet and The Cold War. This was really a great moment for me because I believe that writing is definitely one of my weak points. Having Carol and my classmates saying that it was good really gave me the motivation to keep going with the rest of my paragraphs and give it my all.
I believe my group did a very good job with both the exhibition and the design pitch. One thing that we could've done a little bit better in the exhibition was share the air a little. When one person would start talking they would explain most of everything. Product wise all of the individual product were very good the only thing that still needs work on is the roller coaster. Even though we worked really hard on it still isn't working. For the design pitch I believe both of my group members did a very good job. I on the other hand could have done a little better at calming my nerves and talking a little bit slower.
