Look @ Me Now Reflection This project was sort of a way for everyone to get to know each other. We had to make 10 or more paragraphs involving a different literary device. Each paragraph had to be answered to its corresponding literary device and the questions coming with it. Then we had to make a fun and interesting way to show our paragraphs. I chose to make a polaroid camera out of cardboard. I had a easy mechanism inside, so when you turned the handle all of my paragraphs would come out.
I don’t believe that this project was that challenging for me. I think the only thing was making my product look more clean and professional. I feel that if I had more time that I could’ve made it look a little better. Also, the mechanism was a little floppy and I wish that I had used something a little stronger.
The easiest part of this project for me was the actual writing. I’m usually not into writing because I feel that I’m not the most creative when it comes to it. But, this writing was different because it was all about me and my thoughts which I’m very comfortable with. Also there isn’t much you have to be creative about when your writing about memories or feelings because they actually happened and you feel them so all you have to do is explain them.
When we had our peer review session I believe I did a pretty good job when giving critique and feedback on peoples product. Whenever we have critique sessions at High Tech I always think to myself what kind of feedback would I want to receive? What specific things can I say about the persons piece to help them in their next projects. Someone that I remember critiquing was one of my peers Isaac. He had a wooden poster with all of his paragraphs on it and I gave him both warm and cold feed back. I wrote down that it would’ve been nice to see his paragraphs on something that showed his personality, and to add more color but then for warm I said that I liked the durability of his product. During this project I felt that I was very determined to finish it with a good products. I think every time we got free work time I was working on either my presentation product or my writing. Something that I like to do when I have a project and I also want to goof off with my friends is I work near them. So most of the time I was near my friends talking while working on whatever needed to be done.
I worked pretty hard on my paragraphs. I feel that I did this because it was nice answering the questions that were asked even if it did get a little personal. It also made me think quite a bit, especially the two paragraphs for my pro and antagonist. I also had a few people check my paragraphs for spelling and grammatical errors. I had a few friends, Ms. Jessica and then Ms. Heller all check my paragraphs after I did to make sure everything was written correctly and sounded right. For my overall grade I think I would give myself an A+.
If I could change something about this project I think it would be the amount of time we had to finish everything. I think I would add a few more days just to perfect everything. If this project was extended I feel that I would have made my polaroid a lot better. I maybe would have made it out of cardboard or kept it cardboard and found a better way to glue everything together without seeing the glue. In this project I learned a little bit more about myself. I got to think of this that I usually wouldn't have thought of if it weren’t for this project. Some examples are, once again, who my protagonist and antagonist are in my life and who I feel closest to. And then I also got to review the literary devices that there are and remember how many there are and just overall about them. Also, I learned that once I put my mind to something and I envision that thing I can make it come to life and truly accomplish it .
